Guy Carpenter's Marine & Energy practice is a global business and amongst the largest Marine & Energy reinsurance broking operations in the world. The practice is grouped into three distinct operating regions; UK Marine, placing London Market Excess Loss (LMX) and global retro, US Marine, responsible for our US Clients and International, placing business emanating from Europe, Middle East & Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Caribbean and Canada. Although diverse geographically, the practice is run as one global unit with an emphasis on providing global solutions for our clients.

The broking teams in all areas continue to expand and strengthen to provide a blend of experience and ideas to the business. We design and place a wide variety of treaty programs both on an excess of loss and proportional basis for all classes of Marine & Energy. Marine classes include hull, cargo, inland marine and primary and excess liabilities whilst our Energy expertise extends to both offshore and onshore exposures. Our client base is diverse and includes major global insurance/reinsurance companies, Lloyd's syndicates and specialist marine writers, P&I Clubs and an increasing number of smaller clients in emerging markets.
