Community Involvement

We are committed to giving back to the communities in which we live, through corporate sponsorships and the individual contributions of our colleagues. Corporately, we support a wide range of worthy causes from medical research, to cultural institutions, to those who work to give disadvantaged youths a brighter future.

Throughout the world, our employees give countless hours and financial support to assist important causes in their local communities. We encourage

and support these individual efforts through a variety of programs.

Here are just a few of the charitable endeavors that we've supported recently:

LIFE Event Golf Tournament

Guy Carpenter is a major sponsor of the LIFE (LPGA Pros in the Fight to Eradicate Breast Cancer) Event Golf Tournament, which raises money for breast cancer research and education. The tournament, which pairs amateur foursomes with an LPGA pro, has raised over $4 million since its inception for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and The Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ). It has grown to become the biggest single-day golf event fundraiser for breast cancer initiatives, raising $500,000 in one day.

Tsunami Charitable Efforts

After the tragic tsunami in December 2004, Guy Carpenter colleagues worked together to make sizeable donations to the relief efforts. Our Singapore office coordinated the donations of Guy Carpenter employees worldwide on behalf of the Singapore Red Cross Society, and colleagues were also directed to other charitable organizations aiding in relief efforts.

Homeless Shelter Aid

Each year, our employees in the United Kingdom select one main charity to support. This year, Guy Carpenter led a number of fundraisers for Shelter, a charity that provides assistance to homeless people, campaigns for better housing laws and policies and develops solutions to address the housing crisis.

Re Harvest Drive in Minneapolis

During the holiday season, our employees in Minneapolis conduct "Re Harvest," a three-week long charity drive that helps them develop camaraderie while collecting money and food donations for organizations in need. During the 2007 Re Harvest, our staff raised thousands of dollars in groceries for needy people, and they hope to surpass those benchmarks in 2008.

Sharing Technology Worldwide

Our Rotterdam employees have devised a charitable way to dispose of older computers through their work with Close the Gap, a charity that rebuilds the computers and distributes them for use in developing countries. Guy Carpenter is working with the organization to send the computers to Africa for a "second life."

Medical Training Scholarships

Guy Carpenter employees in Toronto sponsor a golf tournament sponsorship of a medical scholarship, which helps train future medical professionals in Canada and around the world. In the past five years, $750,000 has been raised.
