Workers Compensation Specialty Practice

The Workers Compensation Specialty Practice works with clients to help them understand their potential workers compensation exposures so they can make well-informed underwriting and portfolio management decisions. We place pro-rata/surplus relief, working and catastrophe layer reinsurance and use highly advanced tools to analyze and benchmark clients' program structures. In addition, we assist clients with workers compensation-related information technology needs and claims/underwriting audits.

Services

The Workers Compensation Specialty monitors and distributes market intelligence, continually evaluates market conditions and actively develops new reinsurance capacity and solutions. To help our clients implement a comprehensive accumulation management strategy, we offer a full suite of modeling and quantitative tools, from catastrophe (earthquake and terrorism) modeling to both separate experience and exposure based working layer models.

Reveal™, our proprietary exposure rating model, can not only benchmark reinsurance cost, but can also help identify the drivers of costly excess losses within workers compensation portfolios. Reveal is a unique tool created to measure the potential volatility of excess losses by individual class code, by jurisdiction, rather than the typical industry norm of grouping the hundreds of class codes in to four to ten hazard group subsets. It is particularly useful for portfolio optimization purposes.

Additionally, we have added our groundbreaking risk management platform, i-aXs®, to the roster of client tools for workers compensation. i-aXs incorporates our vast experience in reinsurance, data management and risk modeling. Comprised of sophisticated data analyses systems, cutting-edge spatial technology and satellite imagery, i-aXs gives clients up-to-the-minute access to their data integrated with the ability to instantly convert massive amounts of data into useful information. By connecting better with their data, clients can make the most informed decisions regarding their portfolio, from binding a risk to identifying possible claims.
