Guy Carpenter makes senior appointments for Europe

Anders Nises appointed Nordics CEO; Lisa Ljunggren appointed Head of Analytics, Nordics; Enver Karapinar and Riccardo Roveta to lead European Fac business

London, May 22, 2023 – Guy Carpenter, a leading global risk and reinsurance specialist and a business of Marsh McLennan, today announced the appointment of Anders Nises as CEO of the Nordics region. Effective in the second half of this year, Mr. Nises will be based in Stockholm and report to Dorothée Mélis-Moutafis, interim CEO, Europe. At the same time, Guy Carpenter announced the appointment of Lisa Ljunggren as Head of Analytics, Nordics, effective June 2023. She will also be based in Stockholm and report to Eddy Vanbeneden, Head of Analytics, Europe.

In his role, Mr. Nises will be responsible for Guy Carpenter’s market-leading broking activities in the region and furthering the firm’s innovative approach to providing clients with sophisticated risk transfer solutions. He will also partner with Marsh McLennan’s other businesses – Marsh, Oliver Wyman and Mercer – to drive better client outcomes.

Mr. Nises will join Guy Carpenter from Hannover Re in Stockholm, where he is General Manager for its P&C business with responsibility for treaty and facultative reinsurance in the Nordics. Prior to his current role at Hannover Re, Mr. Nises held various senior positions at Swedish insurance company Länsförsäkringar, including Group Manager, Reinsurance.

In her role, Ms. Ljunggren will be responsible for delivering Guy Carpenter’s cutting-edge analytics and advisory capabilities to clients in the Nordic region. She has held several senior analytics and underwriting roles during her career, including with RMS, Willis Re, Nephila, and Tokio Marine before joining SiriusPoint in 2016.

Facultative Appointments

Effective immediately, Enver Karapinar has been named Head of Facultative, Europe, and Riccardo Roveta, has been named Head of Facultative, Europe, London Branch. They will continue to be based in Hamburg and London respectively, and report to Ms. Mélis-Moutafis and Toby Wemyss, Global Head of Facultative.

Mr. Karapinar joined Guy Carpenter in 2019 and most recently was Head of Facultative for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In this new role, Mr. Karapinar is responsible for developing Guy Carpenter’s facultative business in Europe and supporting new growth opportunities across the region.

In his new role, Mr. Roveta is responsible for the London aspects of facultative reinsurance for European clients. He brings more than 22 years of experience to the position and joined Guy Carpenter’s Facultative team in 2015 specialising in Casualty, Specialty and Financial Lines
