Dean Klisura on Marsh Re: New name, expanded vision

Dean Klisura, president and CEO at Marsh Re, discusses the company’s recent rebrand

What does becoming Marsh Re mean for clients?

Strong reinsurance markets are a cornerstone of economic resilience. The industry continues to evolve rapidly — from increased volatility and event complexity to faster trading cycles and greater expectations for analytics-led decision-making.

As we move into the next chapter of our organisation, our vision is to be the world’s most impactful professional services firm, enabling investment for growth, supporting recovery after disasters and helping governments protect public services. Becoming Marsh Re expands clients’ access to the full range of Marsh solutions across risk, reinsurance and capital, people and investments, and management consulting, enabling us to better address the challenges our clients face in an increasingly complex risk environment.

How will you honour Guy Carpenter’s legacy?

We are an incredible 100-year-old heritage brand. Guy Carpenter was named for the innovator who, in 1921, developed a method to reinsure the Cotton Insurance Association, making it easier for members to anticipate and manage costs. His Carpenter Plan transformed the practice of reinsurance and laid the foundation for modern risk-transfer solutions today. We will continue to honour that heritage and history as Marsh Re.

Coming together as one Marsh won’t change our talented team or our powerful legacy of helping clients manage risk and optimise capital.

What will change are the possibilities ahead — for our colleagues and clients alike — as we work more seamlessly across Marsh, delivering the full power of the firm to meet increasingly complex client challenges.

What does Marsh Re mean for reinsurers?

Reinsurers should expect the same disciplined approach to execution, with expanded reach — from program design and structure to clearer communication and efficient engagement across regions and lines.

We value long-standing market relationships. Marsh Re reinforces our commitment to being a pragmatic, reliable partner in a market where speed, clarity and confidence matter.

How does Marsh Re impact Guy Carpenter’s strategy and offerings?

We remain focused on delivering superior reinsurance broking, along with risk and capital and advisory solutions. What Marsh Re does is align strategy and perception. It reinforces investments we’ve already made in analytics, modelling and digital platforms, and sets a consistent foundation for future innovation and partnerships throughout the Marsh organisation.

Can you speak a bit about your partnership with Formula 1®?

Marsh is the official reinsurance partner of Formula 1. It’s an exciting partnership for us at Marsh Re and a great way to show up as a connected enterprise on a global stage. Formula 1 and Marsh share the same operating principles — data-driven decision-making, precision under pressure and performing at the highest level in fast-moving, high-stakes environments. We’ve already been able to connect with business leaders and global audiences in a new way, and I look forward to seeing that energy continue.
