Over 40 million Americans have filed for unemployment insurance since mid-March. While the weekly number of new unemployment insurance filings continues to decline, the total number of job losses across the United States has already reached unprecedented levels and the labor market outlook is far from certain.
The third episode of The Marsh & McLennan Advantage Podcast features an interview between Sam Glick, Oliver Wyman, and Dr. Alice Chen, California Health and Human Services, and focuses on the immediate response to the pandemic in California, one of the hardest hit states of the United States, the lessons learned so far and whether a balancing act exists between public health and the economy. Oliver Wyman is an affiliate of Guy Carpenter.
Guy Carpenter is fortunate to be able to bring the power of Marsh & McLennan Companies to bear by working closing with colleagues at Oliver Wyman to understand the impact of COVID-19 on governments, healthcare systems and the broader economy.
